This first guide covers the most fundamental thing: turning your pool, spa, and lights on and off. It sounds simple, but doing it from your phone — or with your voice, from anywhere — changes everything about how you experience your pool.
Your Pool on Your iPhone
When you open Smart Pool AI, you'll see your pool's live status right on the home screen. Everything your IntelliCenter system controls is right there: pool, spa, lights, waterfall, jets — all in one tap.

Tap the Pool toggle. Done. Smart Pool AI sends the command to your IntelliCenter system instantly — the same way the official Pentair app does, but faster and without the extra steps.
Turning on the Spa
Tap the Spa toggle. The spa turns on, the jets activate, and — if you've set a spa temperature — your heater starts working toward your target. You can check back in a few minutes and the temperature will be climbing.
💡 Pro tip
Set your spa temperature in advance. Smart Pool will remember it, so every time you tap "Spa On," it starts heating to your preferred temperature automatically.
Pool Lights
Pool lights are one of the most fun parts of a smart pool. Smart Pool AI gives you full control of your light color and mode directly from your phone.

Control from Anywhere
One of the most practical things about Smart Pool AI is that it works from anywhere with an internet connection — not just when you're home on Wi-Fi.
This means you can:

- Check if you left the pool running while on vacation
- Turn the pool off from bed without getting up
- Let a guest turn on the lights from inside while you're still at the grill

💡 Expert Pool Tip
Test your pool water weekly. The ideal pH range is 7.2–7.6. Proper chemistry protects your equipment, reduces chemical use, and keeps swimmers comfortable. A simple test strip takes 30 seconds and can save hundreds in repairs down the road.
